BowlnFun’s been buzzing with excitement ever since six of its youngsters qualified for inclusion in the Yorkshire County’s 2007 tenpin bowling squad.
The youngsters all belong to BowlnFun’s junior competitive team, The Selby Vipers, who were allowed to enter the county selection process for the first time this year. As novices at this level the team have astounded everyone with their immediate success.
Veteran Kirsten MacGregor - the only Viper to have previously represented her county - was delighted to qualify for the 2007 under-17 girls’ squad. She bowled an average of 153.67 and finished comfortably in sixth place out of ten.
Her brother Ross MacGregor, meanwhile, stunned observers by bowling an incredible 197 average and topping the under-19 boys’ squad in enviable style.
Mark Dickinson and Will Prime did brilliantly to qualify for the under-17 boys’ team with averages of 175.83 and 168.67 respectively and the fifth and sixth Vipers to hit the headlines were Luke Steele and Jamie Salter for the Yorkshire under-14 boys’ category with 139.25 and 129.58.
